Chinta Anuradha won as the Member of Parliament in Amalapuram with a majority of 40K votes. She won against TDP’s candidate, Late GMC Balayogi’s son, Harish Mathur who faced his first election then.
Balayogi passed away more than twenty years ago but the people of Konaseema still remember Balayogi’s mark on the region. But Harish Mathur is not able to capitalize on the goodwill of his father.
His lack of communication skills, problem traveling with the seniors, and MLA candidates, and inaccessibility to the general public are big issues with Harish Mathur.
He did not even pursue his father’s dream project like the Konaseema Railway line which is still incomplete even after 21 years Balayogi laid the foundation stone.
He also neglected all constituencies except Amalapuram and Mummidivaram.
As a result, TDP is suffering in Amalapuram Parliament.
Chandrababu appointed Harish Mathur as the incharge of P Gannavaram indicating that he will be sent to Assembly this time. But Harish is not so interested. He is keen only on Amalapuram Parliament.
It’s been a long time since the announcement but Harish is yet to tour P Gannavaram at least once indicating his dissatisfaction.
We will have to see if he will convince himself or convince Chandrababu.
