Coronavirus scare is gripping the entire Glove. At the time of writing this article, there are 935,960 cases recorded with 47,245 deaths. Even though the recovery rates are good, the contagious nature of the virus is resulting in many cases which are keeping pressure on the medical facilities and is resulting in more deaths.
As of now, there is no cure or vaccine for this disease and so, the spread is being delayed only by Social Distancing. However, here is good news coming in from China. Five Critically ill patients with Coronavirus and acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) displayed remarkable improvement with convalescent plasma transfusion.
The patients who are on a ventilator received antibody-rich plasma from 5 other patients who had recovered from COVID-19. Three of them were discharged and Two are in stable condition. So, the antibodies of the patients who recovered can fight the virus in the other bodies.
This should be an efficient treatment for the time being. In India, the total number of cases has crossed 2000. The Jamaat event in Delhi in mid-March is adding more numbers. In Andhra Pradesh, 132 cases were registered so far while Telangana had recorded 136 till morning.
