For the past decade, RK Roja has been an influential leader at the forefront of YSRCP’s attacks on TDP President Chandrababu and his son Lokesh. Her relentless badmouthing, particularly targeting Lokesh has gained attention both within and outside the political arena.
However, Roja is currently facing challenges within her Nagiri constituency and the party.
Allegedly, another group, led by Peddi Reddy, is gaining momentum against Roja in Nagiri. Despite being elected to the Assembly twice, Roja is now encountering difficulties in securing a ticket for the upcoming elections in the Nagiri segment.
Within the YSRCP, it seems that Jagan Reddy is considering sacrificing Roja and has entertained the idea of nominating her as the Ongole MP. In the case of Magunta Srinivasula Reddy, Jagan Reddy, driven by ego, has declared that he will not be given a ticket, leaving uncertainty about the candidate nomination.
There is a lack of clarity on who should be the nominee, with Chevireddy, willing to invest money, initially favoring Bhaskar Reddy. After considering various candidates, the consensus seems to be leaning towards Roja. Despite Roja expressing her desire to contest from Nagari again, Jagan does not seem inclined to grant her a ticket.
Party leaders have been subtly encouraged to voice dissent against Roja, with accusations of financial impropriety being levied by some members of her own party.
ZPTCs and other leaders have openly declared their intent to defeat Roja if she is nominated.
It appears that YSRCP leaders are orchestrating a scenario where Roja’s chances of defiance are limited.
Even if she is denied the ticket, Roja seems to have few alternatives. However, she fears that if she declines the offer, there might be a last-minute change in party dynamics, leading to the loss of even that ticket.
