Rupani Akhil (24) who hails from Nereda village in Chityala mandal in Nalgonda district, committed suicide by coming under a train.
Akhil completed his BTech and worked as a software engineer in Hyderabad. However, as his pay was low, he quit the job and returned to his village.
Once back, he started applying for jobs, but didn’t get an offer. This went on for one and half years.
Due to this, he was totally disappointed and was under mental distress. He went near Chityala railway station and committed suicide by going under Tirupati-Lingampally Narayanadri Express.
Akhil’s father Krishna filed a complaint at the police station and the police are investigating the matter.
Akhil who ended up being jobless did not seek professional support, neither did he confide in his parents before taking such a drastic step. Apparently, he went silent during the past few months.
Akhil’s death speaks of the mental health issues and unemployment crisis faced by young Indians.
