Hyderabad is all set to get its own artificial beach at a cost of Rs 225 crore. Spread across 35 acres in Kotwalguda, construction is scheduled to begin in December 2025. The project promises a unique recreational experience for the city.
The beach will feature floating villas, luxury hotels, and wave pools. Sporting facilities will also be included to attract those who often travel abroad for water activities, offering an international experience within the city itself.
Developed under a public-private partnership, the project aims to fill a gap as Hyderabad, despite being a well-developed city, lacks a natural beach due to its inland location. Residents currently travel to Suryalanka, Goa, or Kerala for beach outings.
By recreating the beach experience within Hyderabad, the Telangana government hopes to boost tourism revenue while giving citizens a new spot for relaxation and entertainment. The beach is expected to become a favourite weekend destination for families and tourists alike.
