The talks between Sharmila and the Congress high command about a possible merger is on for quite some time. There are reports that Sharmila wants to continue in Telangana but Congress high command wants to send her to AP to revive the party there.
ABN RK in his Weekend comment went on to say that Sharmila has agreed to take the reins of Congress in AP.
If this is true, it will be a massive setback. Sharmila is likely to dent the votes of Reddy and Christian voters in Andhra Pradesh. These votes can be decisive and may help the TDP in the coming elections.
Congress is currently at a 1.5% Vote Share in Andhra Pradesh. If Sharmila can steer the party to a 4-5% Vote Share, it will be a death blow for YSR Congress especially as the coming elections are going to be very close.
Ever since its inception, TDP never got benefited due to the Votes Split. If Sharmila comes to Andhra, the party will stand a chance to get benefited for the first time.
As far as ABN RK, he is right always about the news regarding Sharmila. It was Andhrajyothy that first disclosed the rift between Jagan and Sharmila, about Sharmila’s party in Telangana, and many things including Vijaya Lakshmi’s resignation to YSR Congress.
We have also seen Sharmila give a Special Interview to RK revealing they are in an understanding.
If RK is true once more, it will be a big blow to Jagan.
