Telugu Desam Party is buzzing with energy after the clean sweep in the Graduate MLC elections. Winning the three seats of Uttarandhra, East Rayalaseema, and West Rayalaseema is not an easy task and TDP believes it is an indication of things to come in 2024.
Nara Lokesh’s Padayatra already crossed the 1000 Kilometers mark and Chandrababu Naidu also started his district tours to keep the cadre and leaders on their toes and the momentum intact.
There is a clear change in the approach of Chandrababu Naidu after the MLC elections.
Before that election, we have seen Naidu touring the areas where TDP is strong and where the party has chances.
After the elections, Naidu is touring the areas where YSR Congress is strong indicating that the party is going for a kill.
For an instance, Chandrababu has just toured the erstwhile Prakasam district. He toured Giddalur, Markapuram, and Yerragondapalem constituencies where YSR Congress is strong.
The ruling party leaders initially took this tour lightly but they are taken aback by the response Chandrababu got. Youth and women participated in big numbers in the roadshows of Chandrababu.
Even the local TDP leaders were taken back by surprise by looking at the crowds in all three constituencies. The ruling party suddenly realized something is going wrong and we have seen the diversion tactics of Minister Adimulapu Suresh.
From the second day of Babu’s tour, local leaders and volunteers were seen going door to door and warning people not to go to Chandrababu’s meetings. They publicly threatened they will lose welfare schemes if they go. But people did not stop even then.
The success of this tour means more such tours will happen in the coming days in the areas where YSR Congress is strong.
Probably, this is an example of what a victory can do to the morale of a party in politics.
