The disproportionate assets cases of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy did not move an inch after he was elected as the Chief Minister in 2019. While in Opposition, Jagan used to attend court every Friday but everything changed after the election.
Jagan stopped attending the court proceedings and his lawyers are filing absent petitions for some reason or the other.
The CBI lawyers are not doing anything about it.
MP Raghu Rama Krishna Raju filed a petition to cancel Jagan’s bail but it was of no use because there was no co-operation with him from the CBI side.
Whenever Jagan files a petition to go abroad, CBI objects to giving permission but the court allows it. All this is a mere formality going by the experiences in the last four and a half years. Jagan filed a similar petition to allow him to go to the UK in September’s first week. CBI objected to it but the court allowed it.
In all probability, the fate of these cases will be decided after the elections. Jagan would like to win and stay on good terms with the BJP so as to become free completely.
