Narasapuram MP Raghu Rama Krishna Raju was the first leader to rebel against YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. He waged a war against the CM very soon after coming to power and is playing an opposition by speaking to the media on various topics.
Jagan Government slapped RRR with Sedition cases and also arrested him. RRR is fighting a case in the Supreme Court alleging that he is subjected to third-degree in CID custody. Meanwhile, the MP was also not allowed to go to his constituency for more than four years.
Fearing arrests and attacks by the YSR Congress, Raghu Rama stayed away.
Jagan Mohan Reddy tried his level best to get him disqualified as an MP but it was not possible.
Since all this has been happening for the last four years, Jagan was expected to have a candidate ready and groomed to take on RRR. But then, Jagan could not finalize a candidate in the first five lists. He finally announced a candidate in the sixth list.
Guduri Uma Bala is the candidate announced for Narasapuram. She is a first-timer and a BC. It is very difficult for a candidate to take on RRR who the TDP and Janasena will support. Moreover, the Kshatriya community is very agitated about the mistreatment of RRR.
On top of everything, RRR is a financially strong candidate. Uma Bala is no match for RRR in any way.
Her candidature will only add to the BC Tokenism. YSR Congress can claim they have given a chance for a BC to become the MP of Narasapuram for the first time.
