YSRCP head Jagan defended writer-actor and YSRCP member Posani Krishna Murali. Posani is known for having made obscene and objectionable comments about Chandrababu, Pawan Kalyan and Lokesh.

Posani was arrested for his comments and 18 cases were filed against him. He was moved from jail to jail due to the cases and was given bail after a month or so.
Jagan was in Ramgiri to assure support to the family of the slain YSRCP activist Lingamaiah. While talking to his supporters, Jagan raised the issue, which was out of context.

Jagan backed Posani saying that he is a film director who rejected Nandi award back in 2015. At the time, Posani said the awards were being given based on community and rejected the award, said Jagan.
For that one mistake, he was harassed for a month, told Jagan.

It has to be remembered here that Posani has claimed that he is quitting politics for good and wants to take care of his health even before he was arrested. Even after being arrested, Posani claimed that he simply read out scripts given by YSRCP leader Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy and Sakshi media.
