IT Minister Nara Lokesh took to X to express his views on YSR Congress Party chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s decision to issue VIP passes to party members for meetings in Pulivendula. Lokesh questioned, “Orini paasugala. We have heard of VIP passes for film functions. But why issue VIP passes to meet your own party people in your constituency? Never heard or seen such a thing before.”
To provide some context, Jagan visited Pulivendula for the first time after YSRCP’s poor performance in the recent ZPTC elections. During this visit, he issued VIP passes to those who wanted to meet him, creating unrest within the party.
Jagan reached Pulivendula on Monday to attend the death anniversary of his father and former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy on Tuesday. He met only a few leaders who had VIP passes.
Jagan’s security team allowed entry only to those holding VIP passes, preventing others from meeting him. This surprised and shocked many leaders and party workers. The situation even led to arguments between security personnel and some party members.
