Janasena President Pawan Kalyan had announced contesting from Pitapuram. YSR Congress successfully defeated him from two places in 2019 elections and wants to replicate the same this time as well.
Jagan Mohan Reddy for some reason exhibits deepest hatred on Pawan Kalyan whenever he speaks. We barely hear him utter the name of Pawan Kalyan. He mocks Pawan Kalyan calling him Dattaputhrudu, Nithya Pellikoduku, Package Star, etc.
So, Jagan is hellbent on defeating Pawan Kalyan in Pitapuram.
He appointed Peddireddy Midhun Reddy as the incharge of Pitapuram and some big leaders of the YSR Congress will campaign in the constituency. Jagan himself will also campaign in the constituency.
Vanga Geetha is the candidate from the YSR Congress.
SVSN Varma, the incharge of TDP in Pitapuram revolted against the party and his followers created a ruckus at the party office after Pawan Kalyan’s announcement. Varma previously won as an independent in the 2014 elections. His followers are pressuring him to contest as Independent once again.
YSR Congress is trying to lure Varma to their side. The party also believes having Mudragada on their side will also help.
Initially, Jagan even thought of changing Geetha and having Mudragada in her place but later dropped the idea.
If Pawan Kalyan loses this time as well, it will have serious implications for his political career and that of Janasena’s. So, Jagan is serious about it.
Also, if YSR Congress makes things tight in Pitapuram, they expect Pawan Kalyan to spend very little time in other places and concentrate more on Pitapuram.
