Jagan’s Biggest Challenge From Tomorrow?

Ys Jagan

More often than not, the ruling party is the one that sees inflow of MLA candidates before the election. But with YCP, the situation is exact opposite with the party losing MLAs, MPs, and MLCs every day.

Incidentally, there are reports that the full list of YCP MLA candidates for all 175 constituencies will be out tomorrow, 10 January. Well, this list has been in the news for a while now and it just keeps getting delayed but the new reports suggest that it could be out tomorrow.

If the full list is indeed out tomorrow, then the real game will start for Jagan. Even with just under 40 candidates announced, YCP couldn’t control its key leaders and sitting MLAs from going out of the party. And once the full list is out, the rebels, aspirants, and other key leaders who are disappointed with the lack of recognition will certainly make their way out of the party.

Had it been right before the election, the outgoing of these leaders would’ve washed away in the election fever. But with this happening nearly three months before the election, the open departures at YCP could send overwhelming signals to the voters that it is a dying party which will further ruin its prospects in this year’s election.

So, as it appears, Jagan’s real challenge of keeping YCP afloat starts from tomorrow, or at least whenever the full list is out.
