Janasena Glass Symbol

Pawan Kalyan is the man of the moment in Andhra Pradesh politics right now. By successfully allying with TDP and BJP, Pawan Kalyan ensured a victory for the alliance in the recently concluded Andhra Pradesh general elections.

Last time, Pawan Kalyan contested from Gajuwaka and Bheemavaram but lost the election in both places. However, he chose Pithapuram this time and tasted victory. The victory also brought a sigh of relief for Janasenani regarding his party symbol.

Jana Sena party chose glass as their party symbol for the elections. Since the party did not get enough vote share last time and since no one represents the party in either the Assembly or Parliament, the Election Commission decided to allocate it temporarily to the party. Even in recent elections, many other independent candidates have been given the glass symbol.

But, this time, the Janasena party secured victory in 21 Assembly constituencies and two Parliament constituencies.

As per the EC rules, a party symbol will be dedicated permanently to a party only if they have at least 2 MLAs and 1 MP. The party should also get a vote share of 6% in both assembly and Lok Sabha elections.

In the current election, Janasena ticked all the boxes, resulting in the EC granting the symbol permanently to the party.

The Election Commission is expected to make an official announcement regarding the same very soon. This is definitely good news that brings relief and satisfaction for the party cadre.
