JanaSena faced a poor election result in Telangana with the party unable to even stay in the scene. Of all 8 candidates, only Prem Kumar from Kukatpally could stay relevant in the election.
The situation was particularly worse in Wyra where the JSP candidate got more likes for his Twitter post on the day of the polling than the actual votes he polled in the election.
Sampath Nayak, JSP’s candidate from Wyra shared a post on Twitter with a photo of himself and the sticker “Vote for glass” imprinted on it. The post got around 3.2K likes on Twitter.
Incidentally, Sampath had polled just 2.7K votes in the election in Wyra, meaning he got more likes on social media than he got votes in the election. This is an agonizing result for JSP.
Telangana elections are more like a reality check for JanaSena and they should now be more practical by being more understanding of TDP’s calculations and seat distribution in AP. Telangana has set a yardstick for JSP and they should be watchful of the same in AP, commented a political observer.
