Popular Media House, TV5, has appointed its Senior Journalist Murthy as its Chief Operating Officer (CEO).
Murthy has been associated with the Channel since TV5 and was given the Prime Time slot, which always got good traction.
Before that, Murthy was in ABN for the same slot and became very popular with the debates about Kathi Mahesh and Sri Reddy.
He had to resign from ABN after the Channel stopped the telecast of the sting operation on the Janasena fund-raising event done by Murthy.
Once on TV5, Murthy continued to be the face of the Channel with his debates. He is now popular as ‘TV5 Murthy’.
TV5 Chairman BR Naidu was appointed as the Chairman of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam in November last year.
He is likely to have a 2-3-year term in Tirumala.
BR Naidu and his family completely shifted to Tirumala to oversee the Temple affairs.
In his absence, BR Naidu felt that Murthy was the right person to lead the Channel.
TV5 usually is on the Number Three/Four slot in the BARC Ratings of the Telugu News Channels.
