Jubilee Hills Counting In 10 Rounds

Jubilee Hills bypoll counting setup

The suspense over the Jubilee Hills bypoll will end on Friday. District Election Officer RV Karnan said counting will begin at 8 am at Kotla Vijayabhaskar Reddy Stadium in Yousufguda. Officials completed all arrangements for a smooth counting process.

Karnan said ballot votes will be counted first, followed by EVM votes. He told the media that counting will take place in ten rounds. Instead of the usual fourteen tables, officials will use forty-two tables to speed up the process.

He said 194631 votes were polled across 407 centers in Jubilee Hills. A total of 186 staff will take part in counting. Each table will have a counting supervisor, a counting assistant, and a micro observer. The RO will check proceedings from time to time.

Only candidates and election agents will be allowed inside the counting centers. Karnan said results will be updated on the EC website and LED screens will be set up for the media. He added that security arrangements are in place and a special officer will oversee the entire process.

Asst CP Iqbal said police and security forces will be deployed at the counting stations. Section 144 will be enforced at the venue. Those violating rules will face action, he said.
