The Prestigious Irrigation Projects of Telangana Government have landed in Legal Quagmire. About 40 cases have been filed against these projects in the Supreme Court, the High Court and the National Green Tribunal. The Palamuru-Ranga Reddy and Dindi project have over 25 cases on them.

Most of these cases were filed against land acquisition by the state government and rehabilitation measures. The ruling government alleges that these petitions were filed by Opposition leaders and advocates who were sympathisers of these parties.
Nagam Janardhan Reddy and Congress Leaders K.K. Mahendra Reddy and Harshavardhan Reddy are among the petitioners. Telangana government intentionally kept the DPRs of these projects under wraps as revealing them will give out more such controversies and legal cases which may hamper the progress of these projects.
