Former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao fell in his bathroom last night and was admitted to Yashoda Hospital, Somajiguda. He will undergo hip replacement surgery.

After the surgery, he is likely to be advised to rest for three months.

That means it may be more or less confirmed that his son, K Taraka Ramarao will become the Opposition Leader in the state assembly.

KCR did not face the media after the election defeat and immediately rushed to his farmhouse.

There were speculations that he would never come to the Assembly and may contest for Medak Parliament in the General Election vacating his Gajwel seat for Vanteru Pratap Reddy.
Due to the rest after the surgery, KCR is unlikely to attend the Assembly until the Parliament elections.

In case, he decides to contest as an MP, he need not come to the Assembly at all. What happens for the 2028 election is a different topic altogether.

The Erstwhile Medak district is a stronghold of BRS. KCR is likely to easily win if he decides to stand for the Medak Lok Sabha segment, BRS supporters are saying.
