The Union Law Ministry also confirmed that it does not require to be ratified by 50% State Assemblies. The Union Government is expected to table the bill in the upcoming Parliament Session which will begin from 17th of this month.
Both the Chief Ministers are said to be on the same page in this issue and are exerting pressure on the Central government as it will benefit the ruling parties on both the sides. As of now, under every MP segment, there are seven Assembly segments. They will be increased to nine which will take the MLA seats in AP to 225 (175 now) and in Telangana to 153 (119 now).
