Will This Type Of PR Work For KTR?

KTR PR campaign Hyderabad

Former IT Minister K Taraka Ramarao enjoyed a period of extraordinary PR when BRS was in Power.

KTR positioned himself as the Poster Boy of Hyderabad IT. On Twitter, he is flooded with PR of investments flowing in, the industrialists were praising him, and the celebrities are putting him in the limelight.

It was a dream for any young politician.

The 2023 election result had a different story altogether.

KTR is trying to spin off a similar PR campaign in the Opposition as well.

Today, he tweeted to Open AI CEO Sam Altman, urging him to set up India operations in Hyderabad, highlighting the city’s innovation ecosystem, AI initiatives, and global tech presence, positioning it as a hub for artificial intelligence.

This is not the first time KTR has tweeted something like this.

KTR was basically trying to show himself as Pro-Development Leader to impress the Public.

Generally, Politicians wish the states to fail when they are in Opposition so that the blame is on the Ruling Parties.

We have seen how Jagan Mohan Reddy delayed Amaravati construction between 2014 and 2019 by filing cases in the Courts and NGT. We have seen YSR Congress leaders writing letters to the World Bank not to give loans to the project.

The letters have started this term as well.

So, this is a different approach by KTR.

He wants to prove a point that he is selfless when it comes to Development.

CM Revanth Reddy is not into Investments. KTR wants to make a point that he is not proactive in Development and bringing investments.

By such tweets and appeals, he wants to create an impression in the people that Revanth Reddy is the wrong choice.

In Politics, especially in the Opposition, Positive PR Campaigns will not work. Hence, the Opposition often goes on the negative side.

Will this campaign of KTR work?

Will people think the way KTR wants them to? Or will they think KTR is trying to be over-smart?

Sometimes, it will also depend on the level of anti-incumbency against Revanth Reddy.
