Madhu Ridge Park was turning into a headache for the ruling party. For the 450 families living in the 15-yr-old Madhu Ridge Park, the announcement of government take-over became a nightmare.
Following demonstrations and lots of media coverage, CM Revanth Reddy turned the tables in the story. After hearing his version, the 450 families could change their minds as getting something instead of nothing is any day a better option.
CM Revanth Reddy was in Legislative Council on Monday and argued so effectively that those hearing his argument would surely give into it. Revanth Reddy maintains that the government actually does not need the apartment land. He said his government never asked for Madhu Ridge Park land for Gandhi Sarovar Project.
Apparently, the government has access to 98 acres of defense land and 100 acres of tourism department’s land. Revanth clarified that the government did not need Madhu Ridge Park land.
But Reddy did not stop there. He explained that half of Madhu Ridge Park land now falls under the Musi buffer zone due to new guidelines. The CM said that in future, the residents will not be able to buy or sell apartments in the building.
The CM made his government’s stand clear by saying that if the residents of Madhu Ridge Park give their land voluntarily, then the government will compensate them according to rules.
Revanth Reddy very conveniently resolved the issue. He put the ball in Madhu Ridge Park resident’s court trivialising the whole emotional trauma of the residents.
Madhu Ridge Park is just one example. The government has eyed several pockets of land under HILT and other schemes right in the heart of the city.
On one hand, the opposition is raising the issue for a day or two at its convenience and keeping quite later. Meanwhile, the government is trying to placate the public by giving such “logical” answers to shut their mouths.
At the end, it’s the residents of Hyderabad who are the big losers. Sensing that Madhu Ridge Park could turn into another Kancha Gachibowli issue, Revanth Reddy shrewdly turned the tables on the occupants!
