Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham who has become inactive after Jagan’s victory is only writing letters now and then for a formality.

Interestingly, the previous TDP Government passed a bill regarding the same during their tenure. YSR Congress and Mudragada misled the community saying that it is not legally tenable.
Kapu community rallied with YSR Congress in 2019 and Jagan set aside the Bill passed by the Assembly. But then, the Central Government recently in the Parliament confirmed that a 5% quota to the Kapu community is very much valid.

“The State Governments can make such provisions given the caste and social compositions in their respective states,” the Central Government said. Now, Mudragada wants the same 5% for the Kapu community as per the letter.
Interestingly, the letter does not mention the Quota given by the previous Government while it mentions the Act passed by the Assembly.
