During this year’s elections, former MP and noted Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham challenged that he would change his name to Mudragada Padmanabha Reddy if Pawan Kalyan won the Pithapuram constituency.

He joined the YSR Congress Party a few months before the elections and campaigned against Pawan Kalyan. However, Mudragada lost the challenge as Pawan Kalyan secured a thumping victory.
As he lost the challenge, Mudragada officially changed his name to Mudragada Padmanabha Reddy. Meanwhile, his daughter Kranthi commented that although Mudragada changed his name, his attitude remains unchanged.

“He who never questioned Jagan Mohan Reddy, does he have the right to question Pawan Kalyan?” Kranthi posted on X.
“Even after changing his name from Padmanabham to Padmanabha Reddy, he doesn’t understand the significance of the Kapu community or Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, the future hope of the youth,” she added.

She stated that Pawan Kalyan has a clear vision of his political actions but her father doesn’t. As a daughter, she advised her father to retire from politics and rest at home.
She also pointed out that she would strongly oppose her father if he criticizes Pawan Kalyan again in the future.
