They have started to walk the talk now as a massive airport project is going to be inaugurated here in a matter of few hours.
The highly prestigious Bhogapuram international Airport near Vizag is going to come to life tomorrow with Prime Minister Narendra Modi launching it on August 1.
Nearly 10 years after it was first commissioned, the Bhogapuram International Airport is set to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 1 August 2026, marking one of the biggest infrastructure milestones in Andhra Pradesh’s recent history.
Built in a record 31 months at an investment of around ₹5640 crore, the greenfield airport features:
• Initial capacity: 6 million passengers/year
• Expandable to 40 million passengers/year
• Dedicated cargo terminal
• Runway capable of handling wide-body international aircraft
• Designed to become a major aviation and logistics hub for North Andhra.
This airport project in the Vizianagaram district is going to be one of the hallmark development in initiatives by the government of Andhra Pradesh under the leadership of Chandrababu Naidu. The presence of Prime Minister Modi will obviously give it national interest as well.
Along with this airport, the prime minister will be launching multiple rather development activities that amount to a total of more than ₹17,000 crore in the Vizianagaram region. This is going to be a special visit for Prime Minister and also the people of Andhra Pradesh.
