No Competition, KTR Expanding IT Silently

Telangana KTRTelangana would compete with Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka for big-ticket investments between 2014-19. While Karnataka is always a formidable player, Andhra Pradesh under Chandrababu Naidu would pose a serious challenge. Naidu took away many manufacturing companies to AP and started making a mark on IT as well.

But then, things have changed with the Government change there. The new Government is completely focused on distributing freebies and fighting court cases on trivial issues like Ticket Prices. Telangana is marching ahead in IT.

Under the leadership of KTR, the state is trying to expand IT to Tier-2 Cities. Warangal has become the hub of IT Companies in Telangana outside Hyderabad. The city is already home to Tech Mahindra and Cyient, now Genpact has come on board as well.

IT Minister KTR has revealed it himself. “Delighted to announce that @Genpact has chosen to set up a tech center at Warangal. My compliments to CEO @tyagarajan and his team on supporting our endeavor to strengthen IT in tier 2 towns. After Tech M, Cyient, and now with Genpact’s decision, Warangal is set to soar high👍,” he tweeted.

IT growth in tier-II cities is indeed commendable. Distribution of economic activity will be followed by progressive acts like walking to work or at least reduced commute time; opportunities for local talent etc
