Supreme Court had finally gave some clarity regarding the EAMCET Counselling. The court asked Telangana government to cooperate to complete the counselling by August 31st and begin the classes in the first week of September. Earlier, the Telangana government requested the court to extend dates for admissions in engineering courses in Telangana citing that they are not yet ready to get the counselling going. It is said that the Supreme Court reacted sharply and said, “No Politics in Education Please”.
The court had posted further hearings of EAMCET Counselling on August 11th. Telangana government recently established its own State Council of Higher Education (SCHE) to take up counselling in Telangana. But the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization act says that Counselling should be held commonly for both the states for the next 10 years. We will have to see if Telangana government adheres to the decisions of AP State Council of Higher Education in this issue. If it does, the certificates verification will begin in both the states from August 7th.
