Not El Niño, But Yellow Nino: Jagan Targets CBN!

Jagan targets CBN over drought

The YSR Congress ecosystem has the standard narrative when it comes to publicising that Chandrababu’s tenures are filled with years of draught and rainfall depletion. This was instated by YS Jagan himself today in his new round of attacks on Chandrababu Naidu.

Former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said Andhra Pradesh is facing a severe drought and Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s negligence had worsened its intensity.

“This is not merely a natural drought. The Chief Minister’s failure to respond in time has made the situation more serious,” he said.

YS Jagan held a video conference with YSRCP Regional Coordinators and District Presidents and reviewed the drought conditions, crop losses, water scarcity and the hardships being faced by farmers across the State.

“The State is not suffering from the El Niño effect, but from the ‘Yellow Niño effect’,” he remarked. Chandrababu had warned about El Niño on February 4, but took no follow-up action. Despite continuous rainfall deficits in June, July and August, the government failed to declare drought-hit mandals,” Jagan stated today.

But on the contrary, Chandrababu Naidu had been very particular when it comes to bringing waterway projects to the state. The completion of the Polavaram left canal and Veligonda projects on time is an indication of the same.

Babu has been very productive when it comes to setting right the irrigation projects and waterway projects but climatic conditions like El Niño are beyond human control. But that is not stopping Jagan from aiming the barrel at the veteran Babu.
