The other day, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy announced a Protest in Delhi on 24th of this month to highlight the deteriorating Law and Order in Andhra Pradesh after Chandrababu Naidu came to power.
Jagan also announced that he is trying to get the appointment of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah and will appraise the situation.
However, this decision of Jagan may backfire on the YSR Congress.
If an Opposition party protests in the National Capital, the success of such protest depends on the National Parties coming forward and lending their support.
But such support is unlikely for Jagan and YSR Congress.
Firstly, no party is likely to be as anxious as Jagan to blame a new government after just one month of coming to power.
Moreover, the NDA Government at the Center is dependent on the support of Chandrababu Naidu. Moreover, BJP is the part of the Government in Andhra Pradesh.
So, no NDA partner will participate or support this protest.
At the same time, INDIA Partners are also unlikely to take any risk to offend Naidu because they feel hopeful of TDP’s support if the BJP leadership antagonizes Naidu in future.
That leaves only the non-NDA and non-INDIA parties like BRS.
Only KCR can save Jagan from the embarrassment if the former can send his Rajya Sabha MPs to support the protest.
But then, this is an issue totally unnecessary for the BRS. We have seen KTR give lectures about Andhra issues when people were protesting in Hyderabad about Chandrababu Naidu’s arrest. So, it is highly unlikely that they will interfere.
Moreover, there are rumors that KCR is keen on an alliance with the BJP. That is one more reason why BRS should stay away from this protest.
