Opinion: BJP Set A Trap For Pawan Kalyan

Janasena President Pawan Kalyan clearly expressed doubts over BJP’s commitment to bringing down Jagan Government. He served an ultimatum to act fast or will have his options open (alliance with TDP).

But then, Pawan Kalyan may have realized the trap of BJP very late. BJP is always in favor of Jagan because he comes with zero demands and is always amicable for BJP.

He currently has 22 MPs supporting BJP whenever the Union Government needs. YSR Congress is not even an ally of the BJP and will not demand cabinet berths. BJP can also take some Rajya Sabha berths whenever needed from YSRCP.

He does not even push for issues like Special Status, Polavaram funds, pending bifurcation items, etc.

At this juncture, there is no need for BJP to defeat Jagan. BJP can not have its government in AP or sizeable MP seats even with an alliance with Pawan Kalyan. So, there is no reason for the party to defeat Jagan.

BJP’s plan is to have Pawan Kalyan distant from Chandrababu Naidu to divide the anti-government vote which will only help YSR Congress. That is the reason why BJP did not allow Janasena to contest any By-election after 2019.

Pawan Kalyan already wasted three years trusting BJP. He realized it only with elections two years to go.
