The stance of former Bhimavaram MLA Grandhi Srinivas is causing concern within the YSRCP leadership. Since the elections, he has distanced himself from party activities. Meanwhile, there is speculation that he may be trying to get closer to the Telugu Desam Party (TDP).
In this context, two days ago, former ministers Karumuri Nageswara Rao and Perni Nani met with Grandhi Srinivas for discussions. Similar attempts had been made in the past. At one point, Grandhi even tried to contact former CM Jagan Mohan Reddy by phone, but none of these efforts yielded any results. Recently, it has been reported that Grandhi reacted strongly during his meeting with Karumuri and Nani.

There is ongoing speculation within the party that YSRCP chief Jagan’s attitude has shifted. Rumors are circulating that when Jagan was in power, Grandhi made harsh comments about him, even claiming that he was not granted a five-minute meeting with the Chief Minister. Despite multiple attempts by senior YSRCP leaders to reach out, Grandhi has remained unchanged in his stance. On Friday, district leaders met, but Grandhi did not attend.
YSRCP leaders who previously supported Grandhi are now staying silent, perhaps considering following his path. Grandhi was widely expected to receive a ministerial post after defeating Pawan Kalyan in the 2019 elections, and he had placed his trust in Jagan.

On the other hand, there is a growing campaign within coalition parties and YSRCP suggesting that Grandhi is holding talks with the TDP leadership through intermediaries. It is rumored that some TDP leaders in Bhimavaram are signaling to their leadership to welcome Grandhi’s potential move to the TDP.
