Former MLA Pulivarthi Ramanjaneyulu (Anji Babu) lost in 2019 elections on TDP ticket. He has been politically inactive after the elections.
There are rumors in the constituency that Anji Babu got in touch with Janasena leadership and is willing to join the party if he is given ticket. Given that he is a reasonably strong candidate, Pawan Kalyan is also seriously considering.
Anji Babu was a Two-time MLA – once from Congress and once from TDP. He is from the same community as Pawan Kalyan‘s. The Kapu community has a decisive presence in Bhimavaram.
It has to be seen who will be the TDP candidate if Anji Babu defects. Chandrababu neglected this seat in a view to accommodate Pawan Kalyan. Now all that is waste in case some other candidate is contesting.
