Former IPS officer, VV Lakshminarayana, also known as JD Lakshminarayana, is back in the spotlight.
In a recent interview with a local TV channel, JD shared his insights on Pawan Kalyan’s performance in the AP assembly elections.
He predicts that Pawan Kalyan will secure victory in the Pithapuram seat with a majority of 20,000 to 30,000 votes. Although there are expectations for a margin of 1 lakh votes, JD believes a safer estimate is in the range of 20K to 30K votes.
Having served as a Maharashtra cadre IPS officer, Lakshminarayana conducted investigations into several high-profile cases during his tenure with the CBI.
Notably, he led investigations into the Satyam Computers corporate scandal, the Obulapuram Mining Corporation (OMC) case involving Karnataka’s ex-minister Gali Janardhan Reddy, and the quid pro quo case against YSRCP supremo and Andhra Pradesh chief minister, Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.
In 2018, Lakshminarayana retired voluntarily from the IPS and ventured into politics.
Despite an unsuccessful stint in the 2019 polls, contesting from Pawan Kalyan’s Jana Sena ticket, he garnered over three lakh votes.
Emphasizing zero-budget campaigns, he ran his election campaign with limited resources, ultimately losing to the YSRCP candidate in a triangular contest.
Following differences with Pawan Kalyan after the 2019 polls, Lakshminarayana parted ways with Jana Sena. Since then, he has been actively engaging with the people of Andhra Pradesh, particularly youth and farmers, by traveling across the state.
Recently, he founded a new political party named Jai Bharath National Party (JBNP).
