Case On Perni Nani: CI Threat

Perni Nani at police station

A case has been registered against Perni Nani for misbehaving with Chilakalapudi CI Yesubabu on Friday. Police also booked 29 others involved in the incident. The case was filed at the Chilakalapudi police station.

The issue began when YSRCP leader Mekala Subbanna was called to the police station for questioning. Soon after, Perni Nani reached the station with party cadre and allegedly behaved rudely with the CI. The Superintendent of Police has taken the matter seriously.

Nani’s aggressive conduct reportedly began days earlier during a dharna outside a medical college. Police had warned him not to protest as examinations were going on, but he ignored the advice and argued with officers, even trying to snatch their lathis. Following this, police issued 41A notices to around 400 people, directing them to appear at the station.

However, Subbanna sent a message in a local YSRCP WhatsApp group, telling party workers not to respond to police summons until further instructions. Police later took him into custody.

On hearing this, Perni Nani arrived at the Machilipatnam Town Police Station with a large crowd. He went straight to the CI’s room and spoke in a harsh tone. Other YSRCP leaders also made sarcastic remarks. When CI Yesubabu asked them to stay calm, Nani reportedly threatened him by pointing his finger.

Police have now filed a case against Perni Nani for his behaviour.
