Hyderabad based activist had knocked the door of Hyderabad to refrain the government from using data collected from the intensive household survey of Telangana to decide the beneficiaries of various welfare schemes. The petitioner alleged that the government has conducted the survey with a malafide intention in order to make the people belonging to Seemandhra ineligible to welfare schemes implemented by the Centre and the state.
The petitioner urged the court to direct the center to conduct enquiry into all phases of survey, including pre-enumeration, enumeration and post-enumeration, Census questionnaire and its legality, including oath administration, security of census data. He requested that the survey details are not to be published in any public domain until the enquiry is complete.
