The phone-tapping scandal has been a hot topic in the political circles of Telangana over the last few months.
It was alleged that the former BRS government tapped the phone calls of various influential individuals during its rule, with the help of the Police Department.
The scandal was uncovered when the Congress party came into power. Already, former Task Force DCP Radha Kishan Rao and former SIB DSP Praneeth were arrested in this case and are being investigated by the police.
Meanwhile, former AP Minister Dokka Manikya Vara Prasad alleged that the YSR Congress Party also did phone tapping during its rule in the state.
He stated that phone calls of various prominent individuals have been tapped by the YCP government under the supervision of Sajjala Rama Krishna Reddy. He accused YCP of tapping and recording political leaders’ phone calls and their personal conversations.
He said that YCP leaders used these phone-tapping recordings to threaten political leaders. He requested an inquiry into this scandal.
With the TDP coming into power in the next few days, we can expect it to initiate an inquiry and uncover more facts in this phone-tapping scandal.
