Pinnelli Brothers Appear Before Police

Pinnelli brothers Palnadu murder case

The Pinnelli brothers, who were absconding for weeks, finally appeared before police in connection with the Gundlapadu twin murders in Veldurthi mandal, Palnadu district.

YSRCP ex-MLA Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy and his brother Venkatarami Reddy appeared at Macherla Rural police station on Saturday. Police had earlier issued notices, following which Venkatarami, who was in hiding, surfaced.

Venkatarami Reddy faces several criminal cases and went underground after YSRCP’s defeat in the Assembly elections. Both brothers are accused of being behind the murders of TDP leaders Javichetti Venkateswarlu and Koteswara Rao, who died when their vehicle was hit by a Scorpio.

The Andhra Pradesh High Court had earlier rejected the brothers’ bail plea, citing the need for custodial investigation. Their request for interim protection to move the Supreme Court was also dismissed, with the court noting that anticipatory bail is rarely granted in murder cases.
