YSRCP MLCs Stall Council Proceedings For ‘Coffee’

YSR Congress MLCs protest coffee

YSR Congress MLCs found a new way to stall Council proceedings. The party, which boycotted the Assembly over LOP status to Jagan, has full majority in the Council. Yet, disruptions continue under one reason or another.

This time, the protest was about coffee. Chairman Moshen Raju pointed out in the House that the coffee served in the Assembly and the Council was different. That sparked protests from YSR Congress MLCs.

They claimed there was discrimination in the food and coffee served to Council members. Their argument was that inferior quality was supplied because YSR Congress holds the majority in the Council.

Legislative Affairs Minister Payyavula Keshav had to step in. He assured members that there was no discrimination and promised to correct any minor issues if found.

The government reminded members that TDP leaders also sit in the Council. Discrimination, therefore, makes little sense. Yet disruptions continued in the House.

Every session costs crores of taxpayers’ money. Wasting public funds on protests over coffee and food only shows how little seriousness is given to real issues.
