Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy won as an MLA from Macherla in Palnadu district four times in a row.

Although he was initially an MLA from the Congress party, he joined Jagan after the formation of YSRCP.
When that party was in power, Pinnelli seemed to be unstoppable in the Macherla constituency. However, in the last assembly elections, Pinnelli lost to TDP candidate Julakanti Brahma Reddy.

The incidents that took place in Macherla on polling day and afterwards created a sensation across the state. As a result, a series of cases were booked against Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy.
The former MLA remained in hiding for months after the new government came to power. Later, he was arrested and spent 52 days in jail.
Even after being released on bail, Pinnelli remained away from the constituency for many days.
The Party cadres say that he does not visit the constituency except occasionally.
The high command appointed Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy as the president of the Palnadu district YSRCP when the YSRCP was in power.
He was given an extension for the second time. Now, in the current changed situation, the party high command is contemplating changing Pinnelli as the District President.
Although Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy, who is the district president, participated in some programs, he is skipping most of them.
Since the change of government in the state, the former MLA has been living in Underground more than in public.
Recently, two TDP leaders were murdered in Gundlapadu, Veldurthi mandal. A case has also been registered against Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy in connection with that case. With this, he has gone underground once again.
He could not even attend the Vennupotu Dinam program organized by the YSRCP. The Party High Command feels it is becoming embarrassing that the president, who is supposed to lead the party in the district, often goes into hiding like this.
That is why they opine that it would be better to appoint someone else as the Palnadu district president in place of Pinnelli.
The names of Vidadala Rajani, Gopireddy Srinivasa Reddy, and Kasu Mahesh Reddy are mainly being heard in the race for the Palnadu district president post. Gopireddy and Kasu Mahesh Reddy live in the district headquarters, Narsaraopet. With this, it is reported that both of them are leading in the race.
Along with these two, the name of former minister Vidadala Rajani is also being heard since she is a BC Woman.
At the same time, former Vinukonda MLA Bolla Brahmanaidu is also said to be in the fray.
Narsaraopet MP Lavu Srikrishna Devarayalu and Bolla do not see eye to eye. The party is also thinking about how it would be if Bolla, who belongs to the same community, were given the post of district president.
Pinnelli is snubbed by this behavior of the Party. He feels betrayed even though he faced cases working for the party. Hence stayed away from Jagan’s tour.
