Pithapuram Prepares For 3-Day Sankranti Festival

The three day Sankranthi festival will showcase the traditions and culture of the Godavari districts. The celebrations will also feature a touch of film glamour, with Pithapuram MLA and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan scheduled to visit Pithapuram and nearby areas.

Pawan Kalyan will also inaugurate several development works in Kakinada between January 8 and January 10. His visit is expected to draw large public attention during the festive period. Officials are coordinating closely to manage the programme.

Around 300 artists representing 27 different art forms will take part in the festival. Performances include dhimsa, kolkata, relare, folk dance, koya, garage, drums dance and thappetagullu. Cinema artists’ stage shows, Kuchupudi dances and music concerts are also planned.

The festival will also feature handicraft stalls, Kondapalli dolls and traditional food stalls. Bull dances, Sankranthi dances and Haridasu songs will add to the cultural atmosphere. These activities aim to reflect the heritage of the region.

The Deputy Chief Minister is expected to arrive by 8 pm on January 8. Security arrangements are being closely monitored by the district collector and senior officials. Steps are being taken to ensure the public faces no inconvenience during the three day celebrations.

Members of DWACRA, MEPMA, Aanganwadi workers and students from various schools are preparing to participate. Workers from TDP, Jana Sena and BJP are working together to make the Sankranthi festival a grand success.
