Polavaram Project will be getting 979 Crores from Union Government very soon. After recognizing the project as a National Project, Center has given 3349.7 Crore and the state government has spent another 3808.83 Crore which Center has to reimburse.

Center is giving 979 Crore of this through NABARD. Polavaram will get 5810 Crore from the Central Government through NABARD. The Concessionaire has finished the construction of all the gates of the project and the other works are going on at a brisk pace.
Polavaram Multi-Purpose Irrigation Project comes with a total capacity of 194 TMC which will irrigate about Five Lakh Acres over Two Crops Every year. The Project will also generate 960MW of Hydel Power which is the cheapest available power in the market right now. Hence the project is said to be very beneficial for the state and is treated as the ‘Life Line’.
