Noted actor Prakash Raj has been dealt with a major shocker after he was summoned to appear for investigation in a Rs 100 crore Pnizi scam by the Enforcement Directorate – ED.
The accusation is that Prakash Raj operated as the brand ambassador for Pranav Jewellers, a Trichy-based jeweller chain which was later identified to have duped investors for Rs 100 crores.
Pranav Jewellers shut operations in October after the allegations of financial mismanagement and the owner, Madhan has been in hiding ever since.
Now, the ED has summoned Prakash Raj to appear in front of them for further investigation. He will now have to face the ED investigation in the case.
The scam is that the company collected over Rs 100 crores in investments from the public, with the promise of a gold base higher-returns scheme but didn’t live up to it. The scheme wasn’t implemented nor was the investment returned to the public.
Incidentally, Prakash Raj had been going particularly hard against the Modi-led central government for many years and now, he has been summoned by the ED.
