TDP chief Chandrababu was arrested by CID police in Nandyala early on Saturday. Chandrababu was taken into custody after the police issued notices, stating that he was being arrested in a skill development case without any substantial evidence.
Subsequently, CID Chief Sanjay informed the media that their initial plan was to take him to Orvakallu Airport and then to Vijayawada.
However, since Chandrababu did not agree, they decided to transport him to Vijayawada by road.If he had chosen to go by plane from Kurnool to Vijayawada, CBN’s arrest might not have had a significant impact on the people in the state.
However, as a seasoned politician, Chandrababu Naidu may have had different considerations.
It is surprising that the officers allowed him to travel by road, as even YSRCP leaders and government advisors did not seem to view it from a purely political perspective.
Nonetheless, the damage to the YSRCP government’s image has already been done, as Chandrababu Naidu gained nearly 10 hours’ worth of publicity.
People across the state watched the visuals of his journey on TV, while TDP cadre had ample time to stage protests along the highways. The police transported Chandrababu from Nandyala to Vijayawada by road, a journey that took more than 10 hours.
TDP supporters gathered in large numbers on the roads to express their solidarity with their beloved leader.
Many netizens commented that Chandrababu Naidu’s journey resembled a grand procession.
If Chandrababu Naidu had agreed to travel by plane, he might not have garnered as much publicity as he did during this road journey.
