Raj Kasireddy Faces Setback in Supreme Court

Raj Kasireddy, the accused in AP liquor scam has received a setback in the Supreme Court. The petitions filed by Upendrareddy Kasireddy and Raj Kasireddy have been dismissed by the Apex Court.

As Raj is already in jail, he was told to approach the relevant Court for bail, by the Supreme Court. It is known that Upendrareddy filed a petition saying his son was arrested without following rules.

On the other hand, Raj Kasireddy filed a petition saying that his arrest was not right. He mentioned that the AP CID had no right to arrest him when he was in the neighbouring state.

Both the petitions were heard and the judgement was reserved for May 19. However, on Friday, May 23, both the petitions were dismissed.

Raj Kasireddy is considered to be the main player in the Rs 3200 crore AP liquor scam. Earlier Raj Kasireddy filed a petition against notices by SIT in the High Court. But the Court refused to interfere.




The remand report of SIT said Raj Kasireddy was allegedly involved in discontinuing popular brands and promoting blue-eyed brands or favored brands.
