Rajya Sabha elections - a mere formality!

The polling for 6 Rajya Sabha seats in Andhra Pradesh began a short while ago. While so much drama happened during the nominations phase with two rebels entering the fray, entire issue fizzed out as both of them dropped now. Adala Prabhakar Reddy finally yielded to the pressure and announced that he will be out of the race in the last moment. With this Congress will be winning three seats and TDP two seats. The remaining one seat will go to TRS General secretary K Kesava Rao. He will be getting votes from the Congress MLAs of Telangana region too.

The polling will take place from 9 AM to 4 PM and counting begins at 5 PM and the results will be out as soon as it is done. For the first time in the history of state assembly, the NOTA (None Of The Above) option is made available for this election with which MLAs will have the option of rejecting all the candidates in the fray.
