The YCP-led government of Andhra Pradesh has been trying to sell off the Rama Naidu Studios lands in Vizag by devising layouts here. This is against the government ordinance that was passed in 2003, where it is clearly mentioned that the lands that are allocated for Rama Naidu Studios should only be used for cinema production purposes.
However, the YCP government has been trying to devise layouts for the land that is allocated to Rama Naidu Studios. Opposing the same, Vizag East TDP MLA Velagapudi Ramakrishna approached the Supreme Court.
The Supreme Court called for a hearing on the case and has now issued an affirmative order. The apex court issued a stay on the lay outing and sale of this land that is allocated to Rama Naidu Studios.
The apex court asked the government about the reason why the land was originally allocated to Rama Naidu Studios and what the government is trying to do with it now. For now, there is a stay order on the government’s plan to sell the lands. The court ordered the government to revert by the 11th of March.
