
Ramoji Rao (88), the chairman of Eenadu Group passed away today. On the 5th of this month he was admitted to a hospital in Hyderabad due to difficulty in breathing.
He breathed his last at 4.50 am on Saturday while undergoing treatment there. His body will be shifted to his residence in Film City where the final rites will take place.

Ramoji Rao was born on November 16, 1936 in Pedaparupudi, Krishna district.
He created a sensation by starting Eenadu daily. On August 10, 1974, ‘Eenadu’ was launched on the shores of Visakhapatnam. Within four years of its launch, it has become a favorite of readers.

He is perfect example of Rags to Riches Story. He was born into a very humble family and today, he is the most powerful Media Baron in the country with hard work and perseverance.
Unlike the media today which is in rat race for TRPs, Eenadu was never into sensationalism. Ramoji Rao gave utmost importance to promote Telugu language through his Newspaper. Eenadu Newspaper and TV Channels were always clean. Even if that meant losing Ratings, Ramoji Rao did not mind.

Also, he is probably the most influential Media Baron in the country. We have seen country’s most powerful man, Amit Shah going all the way to Ramoji Film City to meet him. KCR at the heights of his political popularity went to RFC to meet him.
He is someone who has direct access to the Prime Minister’s Office and was a front-row invitee to Narendra Modi’s Swearing-in ceremony.
In close to 50 years of Journalism, Ramoji Rao made many governments and broke many governments. But there is not a single instance of Ramoji Rao going to any Chief Minister. Probably, he is the last Kingmaker in Indian Media.
