The rowdy elements of the YSRCP are once again in the spotlight. A new controversy has erupted after a Ganesh idol in Andhra Pradesh was seen with the words “2.0 Rappa Rappa YSR” written on its back.
The incident took place in Peddanapadu village, under Erragandla mandal of Kadapa district. The words were written in red, accompanied by an axe symbol, triggering outrage among locals and religious devotees.
This phrase, “Rappa Rappa”, previously used by YSRCP supporters, had drawn widespread criticism for being intimidating and inappropriate. Many citizens and leaders across Andhra Pradesh condemned the language when it first surfaced.
Making matters worse, former CM and YSRCP leader Jagan Mohan Reddy had earlier defended the slogan, calling it “just a film dialogue.” His stance angered many, especially as the words were seen as encouraging political rowdyism.
Though the incident occurred three days ago, the video has only now gone viral on social media. The backlash has been immediate and strong. Police have registered a case and begun an investigation.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu responded firmly, stating that rowdy behaviour disguised as politics will not be tolerated in Andhra Pradesh. He assured that strict action will be taken against anyone attempting to disturb public peace and religious harmony.
