The ACB Court has extended the remand of 12 accused in the AP liquor scam till September 3. Orders were issued on Tuesday, after which the accused were shifted to different jails. YSRCP MP Mithun Reddy was moved to Rajamundry Central Jail, while nine others were sent to Vijayawada and two to Guntur.
A1 in the case, Raj Kasireddy, spoke to the media before being taken away. He said the police had wrongly detained him for custodial investigation and claimed he had no role in the liquor scam. He expressed anguish at being arrested on what he called false charges.
Raj Kasireddy added that he had never been arrested before, except in this case. He maintained that there was no case against him until now, stressing that the allegations were baseless and unjust. His statements drew attention as the case continues to unfold.
The SIT is still probing the Rs 3200 crore liquor scam in Andhra Pradesh. While the role of ex-Chief Minister Jagan is not confirmed yet, investigators are actively searching for evidence to uncover the mastermind behind the alleged scam.
