
BJP Minister of State Bandi Sanjay has criticized the Telangana Congress of being against Arya Vysyas and dalits. He was speaking on the occassion of birth anniversary of Potti Sreeramulu.
Sanjay said Potti Sreeramulu not only fought for separate Andhra state, he was also a freedom fighter. He reminded that Potti Sreeramulu went to jail thrice and fought for carving out a separate Andhra state.

One cannot label him anti-Telangana as the Telangana movement did not start back then. The Lok Sabha member reminded that it was Potti Sreeramulu who insisted on allowing harijans into temples.
He added that Mahatma Gandhi had said that if there were 10 people like Potti Sreeramulu, we would have got freedom 1 year before 1947.

Today, such a man’s name has been removed from the Telugu University. It is being renamed Suravaram Pratapa Reddy University.
Bandi Sanjay went on to say that Suravaram was a great writer, journalist. He totally deserves the honour. But even he would be offended that Potti Sreeramulu’s name was removed for his name.

In a scathing remark, Bandi Sanjay asked if CM Revanth Reddy had the guts to replace names of NTR, Kasu Brahmananda Reddy, Neelam Sanjeeva Reddy. Bandi Sanjay said that exemplary people’s statues are put up to remind people of history and not based on one’s state or caste.
The BJP leader also dared the CM to remove statues of Andhra leaders on Tank Bund.
